Manga Review: Bleach 493

SPOILER ALERT!!! This review of Bleach 493 will contain spoilers! If you haven't read the new chapter click HERE!!!

Welp! Shit is finally starting to go down in the final arc of Bleach. Not much other than fighting happens in the new chapter but we can all agree that a good fight scene is always exciting. We left off in the last chapter with the Tres Bestia (3 Beast) creating this monster Ayon with their left arms. For a moment it seemed like Kirge was getting that ass handed to him, however, even with what looked like a broken neck, he got up calmly and prepared his next attack against the beast.

Kirge showed us that he was clearly about that life in this chapter by using Sklaverei* (Holy Slave), an attack that absorbs all of the reiatsu from his opponent. When I first saw this I thought "Oh shit, he disintegrated his ass!" until it was explained. I may not like Kirge, but I can't deny that that was a bad ass attack! He's pretty relentless and dead set on killing anyone and everyone that gets in his way. Unfortunately for him, the attack makes him resemble the last thing he absorbed...

Realizing the type of power he has, the 2 remaining Bestia pick up their fallen comrade and run to Chad, Orihime, and Nel, then used a technique called Muda to shield/hide away from Kirge. But he wasn't here for that shit. He once again used Sklaverei and was basically like "look, I'm stronger than you, give the fuck up." It looks like Sklaverei was able to absorb the Tres Bestia and was in the process of absorbing Orihime, Chad, and Nel but fortunately for them Ichigo swoops in before that happens. Using his anticipated Bankai, the last we see (in this chapter) from Kirge is a thoughtful "damn".

Meanwhile in Soul Society, all the shinigami are posted and waiting for the Quincy's to arrive. Clearly Kajoumaru (6th seat in the 13th division, this guy) underestimated the Quincy's power because as he's explaining how sirens will ring when they've arrived, the HBIC* for the Quincy's shows up and shows out, seemingly annihilating all of the shinigami posted at that end of Seireitei.

Meh, nothing's happening that I haven't already foreseen, but it was still an interesting chapter to say the least. What did you guys think about the new chapter? Who do you think will win the war between Shinigami's and Quincy's? In the quest to keep this review at a shorter length, I'll put my predictions in a different blog post.
